@hankevans83 But, it’s perfectly okay if you get the network-owner’s permission?
E.g. If you contact the local Library, which probably has Internet access at taxpayer expense, and say “If I SUPPLY my own laptop, can I use your wifi for free?” If they reply saying yes, then the only requirement you promised to met was to SUPPLY the laptop; it doesn’t have to be from any specific location!

@dstebbin yep i use wifi from a college near my house, only the caretaker clocked me somehow, he came round my house saying someone around here has hacked there wifi he was well pissed!! looking up at my crude antenna bolted to my old ladys satellite dish he said whats that then??? its a continuum transfunctioner i said, im trying to contact aliens…………hahahah what a twat!!!

I tried this and it worked. I was even able to connect to my friend’s network, and he lives almost a mile away.
